Q: When does the club meet?
4:15 - 5:30 PM every Wednesday immediately after school in the high school Library.
Q: Do I need to know how to play Dungeons & Dragons to join?
Not at all! Many of our members started as complete beginners. We’ll teach you how to build a character, roll dice, and dive into the adventure.
Q: Do I need to bring my own dice or books?
Nope — we’ve got extras. If you want your own, you can bring them, but it’s not required.
Q: Do you use DnD Beyond?
We do! DnD Beyond is a website where you can build and track your character's progress. They also have digital dice you can use so you don't have to bring anything at all to a meeting! We will show you how to use and do everything!
Q: Do I have to come every week?
No. Some players stick with long campaigns, others drop in for one-shots or shorter adventures. Come when you can — we’ll fit you in.
Q: How do I join a game?
Show up on Wednesday and we’ll help you find a group. New players are always welcome!
Q: Can I be a Dungeon Master?
Yes! If you’re interested, one of our sponsors will guide you through DM training. You’ll get to practice with a small group before running your own campaign.
Q: What if I make a mistake or don’t know what to do?
That’s normal! D&D is all about learning as you go. Plus, sometimes mistakes make for the funniest moments.
Q: What kinds of stories do you play?
Everything from serious mystery-solving adventures to chaotic goblin weddings. We run both long campaigns and short one-shots.
Q: Do you only play D&D?
Mostly, yes — but we are always open to playing other tabletop roleplaying games, board games, painting miniatures, possibly even Warhammer...one day.
Q: Is there a cost to join?
No! The club is 100% free. Occasionally we may fundraise for special events, conventions, or supplies.
Q: Do I have to be a great roleplayer to fit in?
Nope! Some people love acting out their characters, others prefer to just roll dice and fight monsters. Both are totally fine. All play styles are welcome.
Q: What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened in a game?
Hard to pick just one… but it might involve a bionic eye, a time-traveling future self, and a goblin wedding.
Q: Who runs the club?
The club is sponsored by teachers K. Tarver and R. Lanicek, along with our student officers and Dungeon Masters.
